Commodore Edwina O'Mally wasn't active command anymore, well, at least she wasn't until reports came in from Station 321 indicating that the commanding officer had been murdered. The method of murder indicates an enemy that most have long forgotten, but O'Mally has studied for most of her career. She's sent out to assess the situation and take command.
