The Silowet Sogg Trilogy is a mythological fantasy quest for a new civilization and is dedicated to the late Joseph Campbell, the world’s leading scholar on mythology, whose influence facilitated George Lucus in creating Star Wars. Influenced by the same brilliant mythologist, the author of Sogg has created a new myth, one that fits today and in the future because all mythologies that came before were only stepping stones toward it and necessarily had to culminate here!
Embark on an unforgettable, initially serendipitous quest into hidden realms and universes with characters never dreamed of, to places never imagined. Novel one in the series, Obsidian and the Chamber of Bottles--launches Silowet out of the classroom into the wilderness from where she is lured by long-dead ancient shamans further and further into the forest. She stumbles upon a dangerous but enchanting valley well hidden from the world above. There she meets Ballow, keeper of the world’s thought-to-be-missing but secretly sequestered bees. Ballow, who unbeknownst to Silowet was already awaiting her arrival, becomes her advisor. The old soul offers her a sacred quickening mirror and some elixirs along with a dire warning then sends her on a journey carrying the lost scream of the dead, toward the high place of snow. She must find Obsidian (the high place) before commencement of assembly of the axinoxy begins, a meeting of representatives from the eleven known parallel universes who will decide the fate of the worlds. Silowet must navigate the secret threats and barriers of the precarious low and sub-low places and the dangerous intermediate realms, then navigate the treacherous sleeping Indian mountains and their vivid trixter territories. Time is not on Silowet’s side, for assembly of the axinoxy is near. Whether or not human civilization can survive depends almost solely on Silowet but many other timely emergencies distract her on her way to the high place and she must deal with them head on. Silowet meets several human friends who become instrumental in the success or failure of her quest. A synopsis on novels two and three, soon to follow.
