This small book is a small window into where I am coming from. Every day shapes who we are and I chose this day from among many others for its importance in a major transition time for our family. There are obviously more dramatic days I could have chosen, but this day is the most vulnerable day for me because it reminds me of the fact that my happy childhood had hard transition times too. In those times the whole family suffered. Every family member has a story of their own. What is not mine is the honor to tell everyone's side of the stories of our lives, but I have included other members of the family to provide the reader with a wider perspective on my life on that day. I could have written about the day I survived the largest python I have ever seen three yards away but, I was a teenager at that time and had a broader context in which to frame the experience. My most precious memories are those where I look back to the event today and see what it was, and how the hand of God was in it--even before my personal religious conversion. This little book is entitled "One of Those Days of my Life" for this very reason.
