Alex Easthaver, and his best friend, Roger Danté are just a couple of losers trying to make their way through their drab and dull lives. Each day is often the same as the day before, and neither seem to be able to see a way to change the course their lives are going.
Alex, unlike his best friend, is resigned to the fate the world has bestowed upon him. He works at a comfortable job, has a comfortable house, and is in a comfortable relationship. Soon enough, this all changes when he and Danté discover that his long-time fiancée has been cheating with another man. This one instance of imbalance in his life starts a chain reaction of events that puts both Alex and Danté in danger, and gives them more adventure and excitement than they had ever hoped for.
In the aftermath of dealing with his fiancée’s infidelity, Alex spirals into a cycle of depression and self loathing. He becomes angry, bitter, and distant. Eventually, these feelings overtake him, and Alex finds himself on a precipice overlooking the ocean, with one foot over the edge. However, an angelic image of his father, who had long passed, caused Alex to rethink his decision just in the nick of time.
It was because of this decision that Alex first meets a mysterious woman named Penny. Penny is strong, smart, and beautiful, but her past has finally caught up with her, and eventually she concedes that she needs Alex’s help to avoid it. Alex, however, knows he can not help her alone, and in a last-ditch effort for survival, enlists the help of his best friend, Roger Danté.
Bit-by-bit, the reality of the situation becomes clear for Alex and Danté. Penny is no ordinary woman. In truth she is a demon, a succubus, who fled the dominion of the Underworld thousands of years ago. Penny had convinced herself that just because she had been created by evil, she herself, did not need to follow that path.
But now, the metropolitan city of San Angeles appears to have a problem. A gigantic, monstrous, devil of a problem. Satan himself (going by the name Mr. Beel) has arrived in the city, and he’s not prepared to leave until he retrieves what he believes is rightfully his. With a trio of minions, bent on fulfilling their Masters wishes, Beel will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
But Beel is keeping a secret of his own. Because of Penny’s defection to Earth, the delicate balance between Heaven, the Earth, and Hell is at risk. Beel knows, but won’t tell, that if Penny does not return to Hell, the worlds face a convergence that could lead to an Apocalypse, which no one wishes to happen.
ORDER is the first book in a series of three, depicting a story of an epic struggle between the forces of good and evil. It is a story about love and hate. Freedom and slavery. Peace and war. And ultimately, life and death.
