As American involvement in WW II grew imminent, President Roosevelt authorized the establishment of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the predecessor of both the CIA and military Special Operations Forces. Parachuting into France behind enemy lines only days before the scheduled D–Day landings, his orders are to assassinate her before she reports to her contact on the French mainland.
