There was nothing about his actions that alarmed me in any way at all.
But he was fuming, and I offered my support if he wanted to talk about it and without any warning whatsoever, he walked over and slapped me so hard I flew across the room.
He beat me that day like I have never been beaten in my life. This was my first experience as being a battered wife, and I had stepped into my own mother’s shoes, without even knowing it.
When we arrived, I had gotten her settled in the kitchen with a cup of coffee and went into the bathroom and shut the door half way, and I was looking to make sure my bruises were not showing and about that time, she came in and she saw them.
