Two years after Sami and her friends stopped the TakTi invasion, they have reunited to become the primary source of factual information on the internet. Alejandro transports into the middle of her now dull life to tell her that Tomsei is dying and wants to see her. But before they can leave, they are snatched by Ozman, the wealthiest man on the planet, who wants Sami to talk the Adonae into using their technology to make him immortal. If she fails, he's going to kill her mother.
On Adonae, Tomsei promises to help. But when she discovers that a war between the Clans of the North and South is brewing on TiWat, Sami uses this as an excuse to go there, hoping to be reunited with TanaSet.
Before they know it, however, they are prisoners of SimSimKeta, who takes away their transporter, their only way to go home. The odious Todd Rover is now SimSim's "advisor," and KetaNim is her lackey. With the treacherous Rover and the crushed KetaNim as their guides, they head into the forests of TiWat. As they make their way through the Vaash mountains to the Northern army, Sami and Alejandro will face a raging forest fire, deadly creatures, and even deadlier TakTi. And for Sami there will also be a broken heart.
Now Sami's training as an Adonae "scombro" will have its biggest test as she tries to stop a war, save her friends, save her mother, and save herself.
