In 2014 Martin and Deb Cartwright decided to build a car. Not just any old car. It had to be a vintage style sports car and it had to be theirs. Styled, built and then driven by them. It was to be a joint enterprise. Their shared ignorance of automotive engineering was matched only by their determination to learn and to realise their dream. The starting point was the 'Pembleton Brooklands'. Not a pre-built 'kit' for home assembly, but a self-build package developed by engineer Phil Gregory for amateurs, to enable anyone to build a car, constrained only by the limits of their imaginations. As an encouragement to others and a thank you to the numerous amateur and professional specialists who enthusiastically helped them along their way, this book charts their progress with candour and humour. If you have had ever had a dream of building a car, now is the time to 'pack your parachute and jump!'
