Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy (1650-1705) was a French writer, and she was considered the one who developed the genre of a classical French fairy-tale. Her most popular fairy-tales were: 'The Story Of Pretty Goldilocks', 'The Blue Bird' and 'The Imp Prince'. Once upon a time there lived a king with his queen who had two sons and a daughter. During the christening fairies foretold that the girl would become a cause of her brothers' death. So the king and the queen decided to lock the poor girl in a tower. Eventually the queen and the king died and the brothers, who weren't afraid of the foretelling, freed the girl. Every little thing seemed to her a miracle, escpecially she was amazed by the beauty of peacocks, and declared that she would only marry the king of peacocks in order to protect them against numans. What will happen next? Read this classical fairy-tale and you will know!
