Beau was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in 2013. On Thanksgiving of 2014, Beau Biden made his father promise that no matter what happened to him that he would go on and be okay. The following year would prove to be one of the most challenging years for Joe Biden. His son lost his life in May of 2015.
