Jáan –Horsemaster sat on the ground near the fire and looked up into the star-filled sky. “Good-bye old Baan-Raindancer, Shih-chai (Grandfather), Ak’is (friend), I will keep your campfire lit.” He grabbed a handful of dust and tossed it over the edge of the patio. “Off to the Moon Mother, old Baan-Raindancer, I am the new Raindancer.”
Xanszia’s younger siblings are missing. The heritage and future of the ruling family Oppollu is at stake, and her father appeals to her sense of duty to the family. He petitions her warrior fortitude to discover the location of her missing siblings, and return them to Hobaton
Following clues, and chasing across the galaxy, Xanszia finds her half-sister in Kayetna, Arizona, on Earth. They meet Raindancer, and learn Lilienkala’s long-lost mother, Ayalla is a princess of the Dookʼoʼoosłííd (San Francisco Peaks), a boundary of the Navajo territory. Here they learn that the imperialist Spia Tarteua have infiltrated the Navajo, with the intention of overtaking the Earth.
They become embroiled in a battle with the Spia. They drive them back to their home planet, and cheating death, they emancipate the people from the brutal warlords that once held the population hostage.
