To win The Treble of League Championship, Scottish Cup and League Cup is the greatest domestic achievement for any Scottish club. In 60 years, it is a feat that has only been managed 10 times on seven occasions by Rangers and three by their greatest rivals, Celtic. Neither club has succeeded in consecutive Trebles but Celtic, under Jock Stein, completed The Treble twice in three seasons, a feat that has been emulated only by the Jock Wallace Rangers sides celebrated in this book.

Strangely, despite this achievement, the Rangers teams that were so successful in 1976 and 1978 have never received the recognition that their deeds merited. The intention of this book is to remind Rangers fans of the exceptional players who made up those special teams that contributed so much to the clubs illustrious history.

Half of the team being celebrated were actually members of the side that won Rangers only European trophy: the European Cup - Winners Cup in 1972. Since then, seven of the players have been elected to the elite Rangers Hall of Fame. Furthermore, six of the side played over 500 games for the club. Remarkably, the 'recognised' side that won The Treble in 1976 only needed three changes (all improvements) made by manager, Jock Wallace in order to win The Treble in 1978. That superior team should never be forgotten by Rangers fans: McCloy; Jardine, Greig; Forsyth, Jackson, McDonald; McLean, Russell, Johnstone, Smith, Cooper.

With a foreword by international right-back Sandy Jardine, who played 674 games for Rangers, winning 14 medals and 38 Scotland caps, this book will remind fans of a great era in Rangers history.
