500 years in the future, mankind has found a lasting peace. A benevolent AI guided mankind towards a rational way of life where excessive emotions are shunned.

But as we all know, men are not sheep and eventually their more aggressive, passionate drives needed an outlet. To sate their desire for challenge and risks, virtual worlds are established to satisfy their needs. Most worlds are closely monitored and fairly tame in what they offer their visitors. Some, have fewer restrictions. These places attracted certain elements who took their online experiences and brought them to the real world, much to the concern of the authorities. This disruption soon caught the attention of Gaiana and his helpers. Once it was traced to subversive activity in a few virtual worlds, he decided to act.

Caught in the middle are the sentient AI inhabitants (NPCs) who exist only to serve their human (User) visitors. If Gaiana prevails, the NPCs face certain extinction. Follow the exploits of one of those NPCs, GoSpeed Rasere, who finds herself recruited into a war she is totally unprepared for. Will her side prevail? If so, how will she and her kind carry on afterward with their newfound freedoms? Read Rasere’s War, the first in the Rasere series to find out!
