Cindy grew up in a small town in Texas. For all intents and purposes, you would think she had a normal home life, but Cindy learned at an early age that she had to live two lives—the one behind closed doors that no one knew about and the one the world saw. Not even her closest friend ever knew of the dysfunction that was a daily occurrence. The world saw a perfect family, and her parents regularly received accolades on what beautiful and well-behaved children they had. If they only knew the fear instilled in Cindy and her sisters to behave perfectly at all times. If they only knew she spent her days walking on eggshells as to not upset her mother. If they only knew of the mental abuse and the violence and the alcoholism. If they only knew she was trapped without a voice, without a way out. Once she found her way out, she was without direction and lost. With a multitude of wrong choices, Cindy’s life seemed to spiral out of control, or so she thought.

Cindy always just wanted to be loved unconditionally, and Reared on Fear shows how God ultimately met that need. Reared on Fear tells Cindy’s life story and how God turned what once were horrible experiences ultimately into the perfect plan for her life.
