In this second volume in the New Persia series, the ayatollah and several of his immediate staff have survived the bombing of their stronghold in the eastern deserts if Iran. They disappear and only after a strenuous effort are finally located on the lonely island of Socotra just off the eastern coast of Africa. The ayatollah, still seeing his demands being ignored by the western world, attacks the U.S. oil industry in Alaska and attempts to down the Homeland Secretary's aircraft. Back home a kidnaping attempt is made on retired Navy SEAL Ryan McKenzie's girlfriend, Jackie, and a nighttime attack on Ryan and Jackie that do not succeed but set in motion additional efforts to capture, and or kill, the ayatollah. Ryan and his friends are sent by the president to verify the ayatollah's location and determine what he is up to. 

A series of events occur and Ryan and crew are captred by the ayatollah and his New Persia cohorts.

They have an adventurous escape via a commandeered armed yacht, are forced into a mini-submarine, and finally retake the yacht from the terrorists. In a suspense filled final effort, Ryan and friends capture he ayatollah in the darkness of an Indian Ocean night and bring him back to the U.S. for trial.
