Rescuing Dorothy is a compassionate story of a child and a lovely cat Molly. Dorothy and Molly live with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis her grandparents, in a small village.
The joy of the family is shattered one night when they suffer a deluge after a heavy rainfall. The over flooded dam breaks and houses in the village are submerged by the flood.
Old Lewis, Dorothy's grandfather and his family have no route of escape from the oppressive waters of the flood. They are stuck in their home, and in the midst of the confusion, Molly leaves the house silently like a thief in the night.
Meanwhile, as night falls, Dorothy is placed in a wooden case by her grandparents as the water level rises up to their collars. The next day just before the sunrise, the wooden case is nowhere to be found. The wooden case had travelled with the flood down to the forest.Mr and Mrs Lewis are rescued but Dorothy is declared missing .
As the water recedes, Dorothy finds herself between the devil and the deep blue sea......
