Rhyme Time Synopsis (gangster/comedy): New York 1932, amidst the Great Depression ‘Fat’ Tony Palmenterri succeeds financially from his thriving underground casino and with the kickbacks his mafia henchmen take from the local merchants. One week prior to July 4th, three vendors Joseph Florentino, a butcher who lives in fear of his vicious wife, Morris Delveccio, a baker who is juggling two girlfriends, and Beau Verducci, a candle stick maker whose father was killed by the mafia years earlier, cross paths and become close friends. They plot a scheme to remove ‘Fat’ Tony from power and take back their share of kickbacks they have paid over the years. As they scout the casino, they realize this grand plan is too complicated and they must acquire help. They invite Mandy and Sandi, Morris’ ex-girlfriends, and Sherry, a savvy would be singer who was once engaged to ‘Fat’ Tony, to join their group as all three ladies work in the casino as waitresses. They strike the casino on July 4th, however all does not go according to plan. Flourence, Joseph’s abusive wife, Police Chief O’Reilly, a cop taking bribes from the mafia, District Attorney Tracy, and Quinton & Quency, ‘Fat’ Tony’s twin henchmen, mix into the plot as the heroes crave to steal the casino treasures, put ‘Fat’ Tony behind bars, and race to the sunny shores of Florida to retire peacefully.
