Ever since his father disappeared and his mother died, Ark Ipsen has had a void in his heart that he has given up on filling. Without faith or ambition, there isn’t much of a future ahead of him. But after meeting a young boy calling himself Wisdom, he is whisked away to a dreamlike future where religion is the underlying taboo. After he is taken in by a group of misfits who claim to be from the same past he was taken, he is introduced to the global conflict raging in the shadows of society, and the two apparent supernatural beings behind it all.

Given the title ‘Arbiter of Hope’, Ark‘s forced cohorts have weighed him down with the responsibility of bringing hope to humanity. Amid the ensuing politics and bloodshed, Ark must determine why he has been taken from his own timeline. Against his will, he has been placed on one side of a holy war he wants no part of, but in his own mind, lifelike dreams are preventing him from finding his purpose.

However, as the other Arbiters prepare Ark for his part in their war, the sense of purpose he longed for in the past comes within reach, but visions plaguing his mind are becoming far too tangible. How can he possibly be of help to anyone if he can’t even learn which world is real?
