This book looks at 12 works written by Robert Burns inspired by women in his life. 

We look at the works themselves, give a modern translation of each one and look at when, where and possibly, why they were written. This gives you quick, easy to understand information about Burns, (and 12 of the women in his life), so that you can surprise your friends with your "in-depth knowledge."

One of the biggest problems with reading Burns poetry is the language he used, specifically the scots words and dialects, which can be difficult to understand. To help with this there is a full modern English translation of each poem directly after the original poem. There is also an extensive glossary of scots words and their modern English equivalent included.
