Robert Moffat was a pioneer Christian missionary to the Bechwana tribe in southern Africa. He lived among them for fifty years. He put their language into written characters and then translated the entire Bible into their language. The Bechwanas were dramatically transformed over time. Moffat helped pave the way for other missionaries such as the one who would become his son-in-law, Dr. David Livingstone.
