A collection of mostly romantic poetry in the Tanka style. Presented in the order in which they were written, they are snapshots of scenes from my life, of moments in time, of emotions, and impressions that struck me as worth recording. My definition of romantic is fairly broad, and I believe that today's "romance" is mostly simple, coarse lust and sex.
True romance extends far beyond sexual attraction. It encompasses all aspects of life with your spouse, and delves much more deeply into the close held beliefs of a couple. To experience true romance, then, you must expose your inner self to your partner in life; deliberately make yourself vulnerable.
These tanka are part of my journey into romance, for they unavoidably expose my inner self to the reader.
