Rowan Atkinson is an actor, screenwriter and. Rowan Atkinson graduated from Newcastle University, and began the process of earning his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering at The Queen's College, Oxford, but ultimately, did not complete the program of study.
He began performing while in college, and first gained a modicum of popularity with a radio program called, "The Atkinson People" which aired on BBC radio in the mid-70s. From there, he moved on to television work, appearing in "Not the Nine O'Clock News", co-writing and performing in the hit series, "The Black Adder", and creating his iconic and very popular character, Mr. Bean for the first of a series of television specials.
He also began appearing in various films, including "Never Say Never Again", "The Tall Guy", "Four Weddings and a Funeral", "Love Actually", and two movies based on the Mr. Bean character, as well as two other films based on another of his popular character creations called, Johnny English. He was part of the 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremonies.
