Ruben Leigh is a prisoner of the barbarians, at Talbert City, Chief Matrass has pledged to have the famed healer executed. Ruben is rescued by Sunan, and along with the freed prisoners they are pursued by Chief Matrass' barbarians. Ruben and the escapes seek shelter in Willington Town, where the residents are not what they seem, they are like zombies, under the spell of an ancient sorcerer, condemned to eternal life.
