At 17, you don't expect to die in a car crash, but my brother Paul did in 1976. He was fresh out of high school and in his first year of "real life".
Amazingly, in the year or two before he died, Paul wrote up to fifty poems and songs, and this book is a collection of some of them. They are the most beautiful and soulful words I never knew existed until ten years ago when I was helping my mum shift house and I discovered his neatly hand written and numbered work.
Paul wrote about love, death, sadness, hope and fantasy. Salamanca Summer is the first poem in this book, and my favourite.
I am truly awed at Paul's talent and am proud to call him brother.
