Charles Montgomery Skinner (1852-1907) was an American writer who published myths and legends collection books. His dream was to make American folklore heritage more glorious. Skinner worked in a wide range of genres, he worked as a journalist and a playwright.
“Sale of the Southwicks” is a story of persecutions endured by Quakers at the of the Puritans. The story focuses on the interesting event which took place in Boston. Daniel and Provided were children of Quakers. They returned to their birthplace and were incessantly fined for not going to church. Having lost their property through seizures made to satisfy their fines, they were put for sale, as slaves, to any Englishman of Virginia of Barbadoes.
