Sanctification in the New Testament, by Dr. Ralph Earle, is a succinct book explaining the concept of sanctification, and what it means to lead a holy life. Dr. Earles goal is to help people understand sanctification with the mind, and to experience it with the heart. “My primary purpose and deep concern has been to help people see the light of this glorious truth of entire sanctification and receive this gracious experience (10).” This discussion of how to be filled with the spirit, who can be sanctified, and holiness is firmly rooted in Biblical Scripture. The first half of the book analyzes key passages found in the books of Matthew, Acts, Romans, and 1 Thessalonians. The latter part of the book incorporates sermons about the holy church, the perseverance of the saints, dying to self and the carnal nature, and walking in the light from the books of Galations, Ephesians, 1 Thessalonians, Hebrews, 1 Peter, and 1 John. Dr. Earle writes from a simplistic viewpoint, using easy to understand terminology.
