This book guides readers through the process of writing science and engineering publications, Master and PhD thesis. Furthermore, this book can serve as a guide for lecturers and researchers who would like to use it for reference purposes in regards to their writing and supervision. The approach of this book is based on the author’s experience and journey during his PhD studies.
Writing and publishing in science and engineering research is much easier that its looks. Most of the science and engineering research is written following a conventional structure, starting with title, abstract, introduction, experimental, results, discussion and conclusion. The structure and language used are technical and conventional, therefore the amount of vocabulary, grammar and sentences you need to learn is small. All the tools that you need to get started with is contextualized in this book.
The aim of this book is to highlight pertinent information, skills, and templates that you can access quickly and easily. Hence, you will be able to produce good quality writing for reports, journals and theses.
AUTHOR
Dr Raa Khimi received his Ph.D in Engineering (Materials and Processing) from the University of Waikato, New Zealand. He is a researcher and lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia. His research interest is in damping materials, polymeric smart materials and rubber. He is a member of Golden Key International Honour Society. In 2015, he was awarded Elsevier’s “Outstanding Reviewer” Status
