Noah's life was over. When his husband died he was totally alone. He finally realized that as long as he stayed in their home, surrounded by memories, he'd never be able to go on. So, he moved to the west coast and wept for the life he'd known in Boston. He was still lonely, but the nightmares were fading. Still, life was passing him by. Until he met Oscar.

They'd both loved and lost in their own fashion. They were both so very lonely. But spending time together in Seattle at Christmas, a fake tree and a faux fireplace, and a lot of love to give made them whole again. Sometimes, you have to work at maintaining a relationship. Letting go of the past and welcoming the present is a huge part of that.

It may not be the happy ending usually reserved for these love stories. It all depends on the reader's idea of happy.
