Kathleen Corbin, a witness to a political murder, was targeted for assassination by factions within the government. For nearly two years she had been hiding out in a small Arizona town when the assassins caught up to her.

Rick Baron knew that Osama Bin Laden was the number one target. American intelligence had him hiding out just across the border in Iran, a place where no US troops could go. But they did. Captain Richard Baron and his group of Special Forces men were sent on a clandestine mission into Iran to capture or kill the top terrorist.
It had gone terribly wrong. Several of Baron’s men were killed. The rest were under heavy fire and sure to perish when one very brave lady disobeyed orders and flew her helicopter across the Afghan border to save them.
The worst of the tragedy was that Bin Laden had never been in Iran in the first place. The intel had been bogus. And the pilot, Major Regina Rosen, had paid a heavy price, a price that had bonded the rescued men and this woman together forever.

Maxine Robinson-Pierre was now the President of the United States. As the Speaker of the House, she had assumed the position as a result of the Impeachment of the President and Vice President. But the charges against the President and Vice President had been false. They had been orchestrated by Pierre so she could ascend to the throne.

General Hal Straight had wrangled himself into the position of Pierre’s right hand man. He now commanded all armed forces and intelligence agencies in the country. Under his advice, the new President instituted Martial Law and began to clamp down on any and all opposition within the borders. Her methods were brutal and many citizens died, including those executed in a bazaar show trial staged in Washington DC.

Sheer chance would bring Baron and Corbin together and set off a chain of events that would challenge the new power structure in the nation’s capitol. Pierre had to be stopped; she had set off a Reign of Terror not unlike the one that had followed the French Revolution in the late eighteenth century – the SECOND REIGN.
