This eBook reviews simultaneous equations and inequalities. We introduce simultaneous equations as systems of equations, and consider some relatively simple pairs of simultaneous equations, one pair involving a pair of linear equations, and another pair involving one linear equation and one quadratic equation. We go on to introduce the two methods of solving simultaneous equations, elimination and substitution and illustrate each with examples. Further, we illustrate how pairs of linear equations and a linear equation as well as a quadratic operating as a system of equations have solutions that correspond to the points of intersection of the equations graphs. Our introduction to inequalities explores the meaning of the term inequality in mathematics, goes on to solve some simple inequalities and explore what inequalities mean graphically as regions of a graph for linear as well as quadratic inequalities. Further, we include an extensive selection of questions for the student to enjoy.
