Often, I heard, during my Army service spanning over 33 years, the saying that ‘GENERALS DO NOT RETIRE, THEY FADE AWAY’. This, has got a lot of meaning in it and is certainly debatable. My aim, of writing this book is purely to motivate the younger generation to work hard, be sincere, be loyal and above all persevere to achieve their cherished goals. In all humility, I would like to say that I have no intention to beat my own drums, or for that matter discredit any one while narrating my experience. I, follow the dictum that if I have nothing other than praise for anybody, I refrain from saying anything ill . I must confess, that I came up in a hard way with the grace GOD ALMIGHTY and the utter perseverance of my parents and also my uncle (Chithappa) who sacrificed everything in my raising. The least, I could do to them was to live up to their expectations and follow their guiding principles. What, they did for me to motivate me and instill in me the courage and determination to face life in all its reality, I would like to share with the young readers to enable them to rise in life. If, even one student reader benefits by reading this book, I will fully be satisfied for compiling the experiences of my life.
