Opening the door, I flicked the switch and exhaled noisily when the darkness remained. The damn bulb must be broken. Leaving the door hanging wide open to let in as much moonlight as possible, I walked over to the punching bag I could dimly make out and gave it a good thump. Fucking Brian. I don't know why I'm still dating him. Pulling my lei over my head, I tossed it aside and let loose on the bag.

I was just getting a good rhythm going when a shadow fell across me. I should have known Brian wouldn't let me out of his sight for more than five minutes. "I hope you're here to apologise," I said without turning.

He didn't say anything. Holding the punching bag steady, I turned around, just in time to see the door click shut. The room plunged into darkness and I squinted, trying to make out where Brian was. "What are you playing at?"

Shuffling forward a little, I bumped into what I presumed was the bench and cursed softly. Bending over to rub my shin, I felt a hand encircle my arm and pull me back to my feet. "Brian, if this is some sort of-"

I stopped short as he settled his mouth over mine. Too surprised to react, I stood there, feeling his tongue run along the seam of my mouth. His thumbs rubbed small circles on my arms before sliding down to my hips, pulling me flush against him. Drawing back a little, I tried to push him away. "Brian-"

He cut me off again, capturing my mouth in a kiss so sizzling I couldn't help but kiss him back. I was starting to remember why I hadn't dumped him yet, despite his temper. Sliding my arms around his neck, I drew him closer, returning his embrace. Our tongues caressed each other in an intimate dance until I had to pull away just to catch my breath.

"I take it this is your apology," I murmured as he kissed his way across my jaw, pausing to nibble at my earlobe. I tried to hold on to my anger but his mouth was doing such wonderful things to me it was making it hard to concentrate.

Arching into him as he nibbled the sensitive spot on my throat, I slipped my hand around the back of his head and guided his mouth back to mine. "Apology accepted," I whispered, before pressing my lips to his.
