There are legends of the Sharn but I did not listen to them,. To walk on water or pass through solid walls did not seem so fantastic to me. I had heard the legends and stories of these strangely mysterious people that few on my planet had ever seen. They said that when a Sharn came down from the shining Mountains, it foretold of great events and world changes. I wanted merely to lay my eyes upon the Great Sea and watch as the twin suns set on the golden water glowing like it was afire. I had never seen the sea. I didn't expect to be subjected to a witch hunt, or be forced off-planet to participate in the Emperor's auction on Prime, called the Center of the known Universe. My father laughed at that. After all, he was Paragon of the Silver Hand, Lord of all the Sharn and had held the living heart of a star in his hand. He well knew that the Shining Mountains were the real center of the Universe. I had escaped them and set in motion a hunt that reached out into the Universe and changed it. So, maybe the legends were true---
