The novel is a retelling of ‘Sherlock Holmes and the Final Problem, first published in 1893. The original story tells Holmes’ adventure to bring Moriarty to justice. ‘The Final Problem’ was a seven thousand word short story, culminating in the famous confrontation at the Reichenbach Falls. ‘The Zombie Problem’ is a sixty thousand word novel containing all of the original story, carefully woven and modified to fit an alternate tale of Holmes and Watson’s adventure. As a martial arts instructor of historical European styles, including British military sabre, the author has strived to make the attention to detail as realistic as possible.
