What is prepping?
The idea of “prepping” seems new to many people only because we have had multiple generations of prosperity and conveniences that have separated ourselves from what our great grandparents called normal. When my great grandparents were kids, many families in America didn’t even have electricity at the beginning of the 20th century. Food had to be creatively preserved, and everyday tasks had to be done without the use of electricity. How did our families get by without modern technology? Goodness, the everyday life our great grandparents lived seems so crazy to us today.
I want to shine a light on some budget ways to set some staple items back. We don’t have to be dependent on someone else if there is an emergency that puts us in a situation where electricity, commerce, or grocery stores are shut down for extended periods of time. I want this guide to be as straight to the point as possible, sharing things that may be overlooked when it comes to prepping and where to get them to survive.
