SKIRMISHER
This story was inspired by a tombstone in a large country house and was dedicatedto a horse called Skirmisher.Who served with the Second Life Guards thoughout the Peninsula wars and at Waterloo.
William Kingswood was a poor boy, but due of his knowledge of horses was employed to look after the horses the Earl he has just brought from the stud, as he can envisage trouble begining with Napoleon.
It was a big decision for him to leave his poor family in the country and move to the grand house near London. Here he is bullied and made to know his place.
He teaches his favourite horse Skirmisher tricks which he uses to get his own back on the bully's.
He is then shipped off to look after the horses in the peninsula Wars and at Waterloo where they save the Earls life.
