There is one command of Jesus at which many people draw the line. That particular command surely is going to extremes. It’s unnecessary. “I can go so far, but not there.” And this is where the line is drawn between being a believer in Christianity – in the teachings of Jesus – and actually being a Christian.
What is this command, this line in the sand that many refuse to cross — or perhaps don’t think they need to cross? Why bother to cross any line? It doesn’t matter what you believe, as long as you’re sincere, as long as you lead a good life.
Really? Who says?
Chris Wright is the author of over thirty books, starting with young fiction for an English Christian publisher in 1966. He has written both fiction and non-fiction, mostly with a Christian theme, for a variety of publishers. Chris is married with three grownup children, and lives in the West Country of England where he is a home group leader with his local church.
