The Odyssey Trilogy, as its name implies, comprises a long journey full of experiences. The main protagonist, Arden Catlin, an art dealer and co-owner of an Art Gallery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, spends extended quality time in Japan (three weeks), Thailand (two weeks) and France (three weeks), and by doing so, learns a great deal about himself and his father, whose footsteps he follows on this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Something Else Again set in France is the companion piece of Revolving Doors that took place in Thailand. It rounds out the trilogy that began with Behind the Folding Fan focusing on Old and New Japan.
The final part of the trilogy concentrates on Arden, still haunted by personal loss and existential loneliness. Something Else Again pulls together major themes and motifs of his internal and external explorations. Principal characters encountered at previous destinations are linked with new acquaintances met in Europe. The novel describes how Arden embarks on further investigations into his past by visiting specific places throughout France.
