Zen creates a play during a creative writing course. Sola and her girlfriend Sheba become his heroines as he falls in love with them. Sola’s husband George has abandoned her and taken their children to India.
Sola, drawn to Zen, meets him at a public library researching her book. A violent earthquake destroys parts of the library, but Zen has saved their lives. Finding a way out of the rubble, he contacts his immobile friend Dr Erad, who urges him to leave the country and a violent pandemic .
Kurt welcomes them in his Cape Town home. He runs tourist boats trips around the peninsula.
Zen convinces Kurt to leave with his seafaring boat.
During their voyage, in a bad storm, Zen replaces the injured Kurt, steering the ’Gertrud’ out of danger. Trudy, Kurt’s sexy wife seduces him and Sola, who loves Zen with new fervour. Arriving in Gibraltar Trudy throws a ‘sexual freedom’ party with potent drinks. Sola leaves with Zen the next morning.
Zen’s friend Mohamed welcomes them in Egypt. Sola, is in love with Zen, who pursues to bring back her children to Egypt, while they study to become Egyptologists. While Mohamed takes them on tour of antiquities, he and Sola are kidnapped by terrorists. Zen and Sahib, Mohamed’s cousin, prepare to free them. Salma arrives with Sola’s children and “Operation Horus’ is under way. Zen and Sahib heading up a counter insurgent team have to master the odds stacked against them. Will righteousness tip the scales in their favour?
