Years ago, my father would urge me to accompany him to the side porch of our home in order to tell me stories of happenings in his life while he was growing up. It was usually after the family evening meal and he would sit in his rocking chair, light up a cigar and begin one or two of his true stories. He never wrote down any of the stories he told me, but he was a master storyteller. I believe I got the idea of sharing lifes happenings from my father. But unlike him, I have chosen to write down a few. I have written them mainly for my family to read and enjoy. They know me so well. Each of the eight stories in this book are unrelated and they are all true. They are set in different places in different times in the authors life, each one with a unique story to tell. This book of short stories is written for older children, teenagers and adults. The author hopes readers will find that the stories shared are an amusing read.
