She unlocked the crate and looked inside, on top of the crate were letters that lay neatly folded and lovingly bound in silk ribbon. The fine handwriting which reminded her of being at school practising day after day to continuous double handwriting with an ink pen; of which she never could quite conquered, it was beautiful. As she moved the letters to one side, she saw two eyes staring back towards her; it was Annie, a beautiful framed photograph of Annie, her mother had said that they were like the glamorous young newlyweds and now she understood why. Annie had beautiful wavy rich chestnut hair, her bright green eyes that pierced through luscious thick lashes and her skin smooth and pale. Connie placed it with the letters beside her and continued to search the crate; she found lots of mementos, she assumed, Annie’s life and then towards the bottom there were several diaries each dated with a similar handwriting to the letters.
