Melanie is on a sudden trip home from university in the warm early fall. She’s feeling sad and lonely until she meets her old high school crush Austin at the arcade. Suddenly the old sparks are flying again, and this time she might just do all the things she wishes she had done back then. At least that’s what she thinks until Tony, another guy from their school days, shows up as well, and makes it clear that if she wants Austin she’s going to have to see both of them in a brand new way. This is a story about unrequited lust, bi guys, and how even if you can’t go home again, you might be able to find something even better.
Excerpt:
"You're awesome to watch together," he said. "I could just sit her watching you two make out."
"You want to do that? I'm okay with that," Tony said and wrapped both arms around me, pulling me away from Austin. I grabbed the joint from his hand at the same time.
"No," he said and shook his head seriously. "No, I'm not good with that. Bring Mel back here."
"Well..." Tony said, holding on to me now with both arms wrapped tight around my naked torso. He really was terribly strong, I realized. If he'd wanted to hold me there I couldn't possibly have gotten away.
But instead he just held on to me, and buried his face in the nape of my neck and breathed deeply.
"Mmmm," he said. "I love that smell."
Then he looked up at Austin.
"I think Mel's shorts need to come off now."
"Hey!" I said. "Don't I get any say in this?"
"Of course you do," he said, while I was locked in his embrace. "Can Austin take your shorts off?"
"Well..." I said, and gave Austin a demure look. "Okay. I guess."
I offered one leg up to him, grinning like a maniac.
