A Walmart store was held up and several boxes of sunglasses were taken at gun point. Detective Rage happened to be there. One robber shot at her and was later found floating in Lake Washington. An hour later a Target store in downtown Seattle was robbed in the same manner for boxes of sunglasses.
The County Sheriff tricked the Seattle’s Chief of Police to have Inspector Strong head the task force on the two cases. All similar stores closed their optical department while the police investigate. Two officers from the County and City are the task force.
The sunglasses come from India and are untouched by human hands from manufacturing, through shipping, until the receiving clerk takes them from a delivery box.
At the distributor’s warehouse, the sorting and re-boxing is all done with computers. People never touch the boxes of any size on the speeding belts.
One store clerk at Walmart’s makes copies of everything received, even to the point of copying the boxes the glasses come in. This is checked off against the packing slip.
The boxes stolen all had a bar-code on the lid as well as the box and they did not match.
A semi-truck hauling fruit to Canada is stopped by a blond boarder guard with red curls showing and a Colt 45.
