From the decision as to what type of boat to have, to the problem of making money to stay afloat, this book chronicles the pitfalls and pleasures which beset this adventurous family. Their experiences both ashore and on board Superstar are frankly described. Beginning with them creeping out of port at midnight on the ebb tide with very little skill and practically no experience. They finished up four years later in the Caribbean; veteran sailors and successful charter boat operators.

The book is an informative and engaging account in itself; it also explains and encourages anyone who wishes to, to do it themselves.
