How do you make choices that will lead you where you want to go?

How can you make changes that will last?

Will they be worth it?

How do you make an impact, at least in your own immediate world, if not also in the world at large?

Meeting these and other challenges is the basis for "Sustainable You," a workbook that lays out a case, and a practical course, for achieving “personal sustainability.” The vehicle is a set of concepts distilled from the two halves of my experience: the angry, frustrated 350-pounder, and the happy, grateful, normal-bodied husband and dad.

A key point of the approach is that no one need any more than healthy self-interest to make progress.

"Sustainable You" is Michael Prager's second book. Both are founded on his experiences having been overweight or obese for his first 30 years or so, and now maintaining a 155-pound loss for about a quarter century. But where "Fat Boy Thin Man" addressed food addiction, recovery, and related topics, "Sustainable You" pulls the lens back to a broader perspective, exploring how to sustain healthy change of any type.
