His mother and grandmother, in his youth, told him stories of Scotland and alluded to a Scottish ancestry. Scotland was a place of castles, clan wars and great vistas. His visit to Scotland lasted ten days and in those days he saw many of the places his family had set foot on in battles and to live. They visited Orkney and the Isle of Skye as well.
