Friday January Treborn wanted to shake her head as she stared at the man standing in the back of the hangman’s wagon. Things weren’t going as planned, that was for darn sure. The sheriff was in a hurry to get this hanging over with and if she couldn’t stop him, Ralph Harden would be a couple of inches taller. . .and dead.

Ralph Harden’s thoughts were focused on one thing; should he get out of this, he was going to break Herb Walker’s nose for getting him into the mess. What was supposed to be a simple trip in and out of Timber Creek, Texas hadn’t turned out that way at all. Accused of horse stealing, sentenced to hang, and now here he stood in the back of a wagon, a rope around his neck, and rain soaking him to the bone, as he watches the pitiful performance being played out before him. He might just have to shoot Herb after he breaks his nose.

A mission to rescue turns into something Friday never thought to find. After two years of working for her father and uncles, she was ready to retire from the life of shadowing and tracking lawbreakers. She wanted to be like other women, to fall in love, and to have a family of her own. Now she was getting that chance. Marrying Mr. Harden wasn’t something she planned, but she decided she was going to keep him whether he liked it or not.

Just like that, the crazy woman decides she going to ‘keep’ him. Maybe he was crazy, too. He never thought to marry a stranger, but his first glimpse of Friday had him changing his mind. This Texas Temptress was everything a man could want...sweet, irritating, and downright beautiful.
