On February 4th 1978 Roger Quick peaked at #29 with his trucking themed hit, 'Ten Miles From Home,' on the Canadian country charts. His record label, Thunderbird Recording, was based in Burford, ON. This top 30 single brought Thunderbird out to the big time, leaving an indelible mark in the music history books of today.

Thunderbird Recording was owned and operated by Big Jim Allison, a man who bled country music. This book is his story; his roster of 22 acts and the trials and tribulations of running a small record label in 1970's Canada. Thunderbird ceased operations at the end of 1978 after four years, but in that time left a conciderable catalogue of recorded music; 30 singles and 6 albums.

This book includes the Thunderbird story as well as forty biographies, the Thunderbird acts such as Les Childs & Dusty Road, Charlie Louvin, Don Oatman, Roger Quick, Jan Stevens, The Muir Family, and Whisky Hollow, plus thirty-four acts associated with Thunderbird, including Marie Bottrell, Johnny Burke, Harry Hibbs, Fred McKenna, The Mercey Brothers, Ruth Ann, Gerry Risser, Barbara Saunders Axford, Terry Sumsion and Michelle Wright.

Painstakingly researched over a two year period with extensive detail and over sixty personal interviews, this book is the untold story, a moment in time, a forgotten memory, but still as important to know and celebrate; That Brant County Sound! The Ballad of Jim Allison and Thunderbird Recording. A story not to be missed!
