HEAVEN AND EARTH
Synopsis
Taken from the preface:
SO MANY of my reader friends, being painfully conscious of the immense and disruptive changes that have taken place upon earth, have been led to ponder what changes, if any at all, have occurred in the spirit world. They know that neither we nor the lands wherein we live are static, that we are forever progressing and advancing, and that while we cannot undergo the vast upheavals that have so violently shaken and disturbed the earth world, bringing havoc and ruin, yet things must have altered with us in some measure, in some manner, since that time when I first 'broke the silence of the grave' in these writings.
Life In The World Unseen
Synopsis
Life In The World Unseen is a book written by Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson through the assistance of a medium named Anthony Borgia. Borgia, according to his preface, was a close friend of Benson’s, beginning “five years before his passing into the spirit world.” This book therefore, is a description of the afterlife. It covers things such as The Children’s Sphere, Geographical Position, Some First Impressions, The Dark Realms, The Highest Realms, Famous People, My Earth Life, and The Lowest Realms.
More About Life In The Unseen World
Synopsis
This is a continuation of the book Life in the World Unseen. It was first published in 1956. As in the first book, it is the words of an ex-Catholic Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson, who discovered that life after death is completely different to that which he spent his life teaching.
Here And After
Synopsis
Borgia claimed to be in touch with a dead man who told him stories of the after life. This is one such book. From the Introduction: ‘It is again necessary to say that I first came to know the communicator of this book, Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson, many years ago. A son of Edward White Benson, former Archbishop of Canterbury, he was then at the summit of his fame both as author and preacher.By telling others, who are still on earth, of his experiences in the spirit world, he will have attained more than his purpose if he is able to cast out of people’s minds the fear of death and the hereafter.’
More Light
Synopsis
IN an earlier volume, "Facts," the spirit communicator gave some account of his 'revised theology’. In this, his latest script, he returns to the theological theme with particular reference to the creeds and to certain of the miracles as narrated in the New Testament.
As a priest in earthly life, he sampled two kinds of Orthodoxy, 'one fairly free and easy-going, the other rigorous and unremitting; the first permitting private judgement upon most religious matters, the second allowing only the voice of authority to speak.'
Indulgence is asked for repeating, though the repetition seems unavoidable, that my friendship with the communicator of this book began in 1909, five years before he passed into the spirit world.
In returning to speak, he has brought with him on many occasions a host of mutual friends, the theology of most of whom has, like his own, been drastically revised.
Once again it has been my privilege to act as his earthly amanuensis, and to record further details of his 'revised theology’.
Facts (Recorded By Anthony Borgia)
Synopsis
First published in 1946, this book is devoted to a criticism of the orthodox Christian religion, as seen from the spirit planes. Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson certainly demolishes much of the orthodox Christian dogma, yet fails to add such higher truths as we can learn via James Padgett, or even via the Urantia Book. Strange in some ways, because Padgett's mediumship occurred while Benson was in the spirit world.
He covers issues such as baptism, the Eucharist, the vicarious atonement, prayer, and notions of judgment, justice and mercy.
