If we study the Qur'an and the Old Testament we hear horror stories, entire cities wiped out, children and babies hunted down and killed, because of sexuality; rape victims having to marry their rapists in the name of God; yet in both books there is not one mention of a single person being killed by the Devil. Yet billions of people over the centuries devote their lives and beliefs to God. Why? Besides, only those who believe in a god will believe in the devil. Atheists believe in neither, considering that they are man-made, scriptures written long ago, centuries before the advent of police forces and laws. You can control the masses by making them fear something that no one will ever explain - life and death. Offer people riches, wealth and food after death, and those uneducated, illiterate people would convert and believe in the god offered to them - or face death. This made the origins of the Catholic church very rich, and today, they own millions of properties and real estate around the world. Thanks to the peasants they had brain washed and enslaved, by taking their farmed products, and by forcing them to pay taxes etc, Thus the rich got richer in the name of a god that they created for their own reward.
